Flash Story

One day, a man named Paul realized his fate. He walked to the academy and enrolled.
He wanted to start anew. But he did not know what to do. He met new people and learned new things. But there was one thing he did not have that he wanted so dearly, a best friend. He found that as he went through life that he was not good at finding friends. He did not get along with anyone. He drove to the bridge near his school and thought of his life. He pondered the question of whether he should be living.

Reading Response - Week 5

The book that I am reading is called Michael Vey Storm of Lightning by Richard Paul Evans. In the story Michael, Taylor, Ian, and Gervaso are trying to convince Taylor's dad that they are "electric." When they broke into the house they found that Taylor's dad was pulling up in the driveway.  When he turned the lock to door, he saw them standing in the doorway. He couldn't believe the sight that he saw, his daughter standing in the hallway. They embraced, but Mr. Ridley was skeptical about what was really going on.

When Mr. Ridley pulled a gun on them, Michael had to make the decision of whether to let him shoot Gervaso, or shock him. Of course he chose to shock him. That is where i stopped reading.

Dear 12 Year Old

Enjoy middle school while you can, because in a blink of an eye you'll be walking into high school wishing you could turn back time. Make friends now so your bond can only grow stronger. When you are learning new things pay attention because it will most likely pop up later in your school experience. Always study because you never know if there will be material that you haven't covered in class.

When you're in the middle of a test don't stress. Just make sure that you study for a LONG time in order to ingrain the material into your brain. Never slack during tests or especially exams because they can surprise you with something different.

Reading Response-Week 4

The literacy narrative that I wrote was about the Great Flood of 2016. I wrote of an experience I had with my mom and our neighbor. We rescued our neighbor's two dogs in her house across the street. The experience was unlike anything I had ever gone through. That experience made me realize how lucky I really am to have what I have. So many people out there are suffering and are without their homes. I am so lucky to be where I am and to have what I have.

Post 2-Week 2

Something story-worthy that has happened during the summer was camp. Every summer I go to a camp in Cleveland, Georgia called Camp Coleman. I've made friendships that I think will last a lifetime. The camp is like any other sleep-away camp. We sign up for activities and do them in a rotating schedule each day. There isn't one day where we sit around doing nothing. The "Units" are organized by grade. I've enjoyed going there each year, but sadly, next summer will be my last as a camper. After that I hope to become a CIT and then eventually a counselor.

Reading Response- Week 2

My current book that I am reading is Michael Vey: Storm of Lightning by Richard Paul Evans. I'm about halfway through. The plot is interesting, but to understand the events going on in the book you need to have read the first four books in the series. The story is enticing and it has hooked me throughout the series so far. Every time I pick up the book I don't want to put it down. The author has planned to write two more books in the series and I can't wait.

9/11

One sunny day in September 2001, Al Qaeda planted terrorist on three passenger planes. They carried out suicide attacks on The World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington D.C.. This killed everyone aboard and about 3,000 people on the ground from both attacks, including over 400 police officers.

After the passengers and the crew gave an effort to take back control from the terrorists, they crashed into a Pennsylvanian field which killed everyone on board. Often referred to as 9/11, the attacks resulted in extensive destruction and death, which triggered major U.S. initiatives to fight terrorism and defining the presidency of George W. Bush.

Reading Response to The Inquisition

Over the summer I read a book called The Inquisition by Taran Matharu. This book belongs to a series called The Summoner Trilogy. The next book comes out in May of next year. The story of this book was a continuation of The Novice. In the end of The Novice Fletcher, the main character, gets arrested by the Pinkertons, enforcers of the law(like police). They bring him back to his home town and he is put in jail for the attempted murder of Didric Cavell. The trial is long and tedious, but the results were that Fletcher was innocent. To his surprise, Rook, his old teacher from Vocans, came in and charged him with treason against the King. This trial reveals Fletcher's true origin when old King Alfric suggests that if he were truly of noble blood, that he would be immune to the sting of a certain demon. The he survives the full dose of poison he is given, the jury truly knows the story of Fletcher.

It turned out that Fletcher was indeed a noble, in fact he was the long lost child of the Raleigh's. Unfortunately, the Raleigh's died when a raid of Orcs was swarming in their empire. This is on the list of my favorite books, I love the way Matharu writes and I can't wait for book 3.
