About Me

Welcome to my blog! My name is Max and I was born in Delray Beach, Florida. I moved to Baton Rouge after completing second grade, and started at Episcopal in third grade. Some of my family still resides in Florida and I visit them during the summer. I like playing golf with my Grandfather during the summer. I attend Camp Coleman in  Cleveland, Georgia. Cleveland is located in the very northern part of Georgia, near the mountains. I enjoy archery, cooking, tennis, and swimming at Camp Coleman.

During the flood, my Mom and I took in our neighbor, Jamie. She had to trudge through the dirty, spider-infested, flood waters to reach our side of the street. Later that day, my Mother and Jamie, made a heroic rescue. They had to get to the other side of the street by boat. They jumped from the boat and entered the flooded house. The water was up to their waist. They were practically swimming. As they worked their way to the back of the house, they stepped on the floor, and the laminate flooring popped out. When they reached their destination in the back of the house, they opened the door to the bedroom and found Jamie's dogs on the bed huddled together. They reached the bed and grabbed the dogs, but as they were leaving the hallway, the collar on one of the dogs slipped from his neck. Jamie was on her knees in the flood water, searching desperately for the collar. Jamie found that it was a lost cause, so they exited the house. They lifted the dogs onto the boat. And rode back to the safety of our house.

The Novice

One of the books I read the Novice by Taran Matharu. This book was about a teenager named Fletcher who finds that he has the ability to summon demons. He started out was a humble blacksmith who was left on the snow on a cold winter. What I liked most is that after he escaped his home town, Pelt, he travelled to a school called Vocans Academy and starts to train and increase his powering all the classes. Something that surprised me was that Fletcher stood out among the group of Summoners, he became the best Summoner out of the entire class the later on, he wins the tournament by defeating Tarquin in the final round. This is important because when he wins the tournament he receives the title of Captain and plans to take his abilities to fight on the Front Lines.

As I was reading, I noticed that Fletcher's secret of almost murdering Didric, his long time enemy, was going to come back to haunt him. What I disliked most about the story was that Rook, one of Fletcher's teachers, found out about what Fletcher had done, and in the final moments of the novel, he called the Pinkertons, the people who enforce the law of the king, to arrest Fletcher for the attempted murder of Didric Cavell. In truth he was only protecting himself and the attack was an act of self-defense.This is similar to how kids these days are being bullied and blamed for things they haven't done.
